Wow... you can try a fish trap with some food in it or you might have to remove the LR and net the fish out!!! Sorry but it is very hard to catch fish once in a tank with LR in it. :(

Fish trap works pretty good. You know how a fish trap works?

yeah i found that out the hard way....i caught a few of them before coz i was the one feeding them...everytime i feed them i tap on the glass and they all come up to eat..... since my aunt start feeding them she kind a neglect to tap on the glass....now everytime i put the net in they all ran away and hide.

try taking two nets and leave them in the tank and let them get used to the net being there. Then use the nets togater to swipe them up.good luck

sorry to butt in, but what do people do with their damsels that they no longer want? Do you take them back to the pet store or just put them into a different tank? I have 1 yellowtail, 1 domino, and 2 three stripes. Will I HAVE to remove them?

you don't have to remove them if you like them then by all means keep them and enjoy them, alot of people buy them as a first fish or to cycle a tank because they are inexpensive only to find out later that they are very territorial and down right nasty to the fish they try to add later, often harassing the new fish to death and in a tank full of lr and other obstacales they can be darned hard to catch

If you want to get rid of them sometimes your LFS will take them in trade credit toward another fish.... Sometimes there are local reef people that like damsels and you can give them away or trade for some coral frags!!!

I have damsels in my tank I use them to keep my rearing tanks going when my fish are not hatching eggs, but then again I have nothing in my tanks but monitors and water. and if you do want an inexpensive damsel to start out with the Talbot damsel is a very nice looking Damsel and are pretty timid.

I'll put my damsels in a smaller tank and eventually give them to my friend. i do like their coloration but they are just nasty, specially the blue damsels. i have 3 pink damsels as well but they are a little timid and i think they are an adult size already.
