I just bought 2 pounds of live rock (I know it's not a lot, but the pet store charges $9.00 a pound!) and I started seeing little red bumps forming on the surface of the rock. What could this be? My step-dad was thinking maybe a coral of some kind. I'll try to get a pic but i dont know if i can...

A pic will really help. There are a number of red things that it could be.
Consider ordering rock online. (Liverocks.com is a sponsor here.) You'll find it cheaper than your LFS is offering, and probably better quality.
Can't wait to see the picture!

Do they look like Foraminiferans (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/k.davis11/forams.html)? Here is another article about them: Foraminiferans (http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-07/rs/index.htm)
Here is a pic from my tank:

Those in the picture are somewhat grown. Theystart like little specs on the rock.
