I have been told that Sea Fans and Gorgonians will not grow in the aquarium enviornment. I have a Red Sea Fan that I have had for Several Months. Its polps extend regularly, and it is a great piece. However, some of the tips have died off and are little white skeletons......I have been told it will never repair itself....why not?

I believe they can survive in an aquarium.. I do believe that they feed on phyto and also rotifers to help them grow. I have herd daily feeding is best for those types of corals. As for repairing itself I do believe it can but it will take time.
I have fragged several Purple Frilly Gorgonians and havent had any issues with growing them, but havent tried any of the Sea Fans as I have herd they are somewhat difficult and kind of delicate. Dont know how much truth there is to that though....
