My bf's aunt who has kept a pimp saltwater for years called him this morning at like 5 am and said that she hates the hobby- her aquarium is leaking and to come get anything he wants for me!! so- he calls me and says " I'm on my way to Aunt Cindy's bc her aquarium broke and I'll get everything she has for you!" OMG! I got fourty pounds of beautiful beautiful live rock- TWO power compacts- the tank (which has a small crack in it- but sooo fixable) with stand- a tomatoe clown- a "pink little pretty fish" and a couple other kinds that he couldnt identify. I also got two boxes full of brand spankin new chemicals tons and all kinds of foods- and some other stuff that he doesnt know what it is. :-D I actually have not seen it yet bc I have to work alllll day till 5- but it sounds pretty cool and its totally made my day- just thought I would share!!

That's really great when something like that can happen after the rough time you had with your tank. Great day.

I'm really glad for you. :-D
One side note I would encourage you to QT/cook/cure the LR b4 placing it in your tank. There could be a lot of nutrients/phosphates embedded within the rock specially if it's been on an established tank for a while, this way you don't inherit a problem with your free LR.

very cool...good score
on reparing the crack...where exactly is the crack? If it's simply a leaky seam, yes, that's an easy fix...but if the glass itself has a crack you'll likely need to replace the whole piece. You can seal the crack to prevent leaks, but there is still the issue of the structural integrity of the glass...the crack will ultimately weaken the glass and increase the odds of it giving way altogether...not pretty... :-D

Yes yes the crack is along the seam in the bottom left ( I think- the glass doesnt seem to be cracked anywhere)- and I'm not about to call her up and tell her lol! Anyways- at my lunch hour I went home and inspected the goods. :-D It was a good hour- I found that he did everything perfectly! The tomatoe is the nano for a short time until we find him a home nad the big damsels and other fish are in quarantine. The live rock was already added to the tank- too bad I didnt read this first but its ok bc there are no fish in there right now- they are all inthe hospital being treated for ick- In the goods came two Maxi jets ( not sure hwat kind)!! One extra Penguin power filter of some sort! Lots of chemicals- reef complete- ich guard- garlic supplement- marine buff- etc etc. I'm very excited all that stuff costs a lot and all i had was reef complete and marine buff. A protein skimmer that appears to be cracked- and other stuff. Nice score for me! I have NEVER won anything in my life- I feel like I won the lottery...
