What kind do you guys use?

Glass (with suction cup)

or

Stick on Glass Adhesive kind

I personally use the ones that adhere to the front of the glass...but I'm doubting their accuracy because of the way its reading the temp. here in the winter...I'm going to compare it with a glass one and see.

I use glass. I used to run both, and the adhesive one read 5 degrees higher than the mercury one, which was concurring with my heater setting. I put in another glass one that matched the first. I chose to believe the glass thermometer.

I have used both kinds in the past and out of the two I would choose the glass. The stick on seems to vary with the tempature of the room. Currently I use a digital thermomiter. The glass that I have is only one degree difference from my digital.

Yea, I've also considered digital as well.

I'll be using a controller on my 150 soon enough.

i like the glass ones but prefer the digitals because i can read them without hunting for my glasses, i hate the stick ons i think i could stick my finger in the tank and guess about as accurate as a stick on

So true cich1!! I'm off to drop my glass one in the cube to compare the temp with the stick onthat's on there.

Stick on tells me it's 78-80 and the glass one says 80. That's not what I expected. :doubt: I figured it would be really off!

I'm also using a digital... was using a adhesive type. It read about 2-3 deg lower than the digital. The adhesives seem to work better on glass than acrylic.

Glass transfer temp. better than acrylic, that's why.

I wonder if it makes a difference on what your room temp is and also location of where the sticky one is placed on the tank I think its time for another experament.

I have the sticky one and A digital probe, i find digital probes to do a better job of catching my attention than a small sticky tape in the corner. My 25t has a digital that alarms within a certain temperature variance.
