View Full Version : Painful but good...
Well just an update to those whom may be interested...
Just got my shelf reassembled and I am starting to put together Prompagation tanks. Yeah I know like I really need more tanks but you guys & gals know how it goes...As soon as you get it you want something new!
Thus far I have few pics but will include some in the not too distant future of the project. Today I set up two 15 gallon species specific prompagation tanks and will be setting up a 40 gallon breeder today and hope to have it filled and the lighting grate shaelf completed and ready to install so I can get the SPS frags in that baby tomorrow morning with a little luck. At least thats the game plan anyways. By last week of Jan (got to wait for the filtration systems to arrive via mail order) I should have 2-3 more 15 gallons set up and 2 of the 10 gallons set up and going. I will try to have some pics to share Monday night and hopefully by end of Jan. I will have it up and running full steam ahead!, with lots more pics to follow.
Need more ORA frags...Need more ORA frags...........! Man do I have issues or what?

It's gonna be great, Ray! Thanks for showing off!
Yeah, Nick you definitely got a valid point there! I do need a rigorous 12 step program for sure!
Thats for the encouragement Conni. I should have the 40 up and running by tonight when more saltwater finishes mixing. I will have to throw some more pics up tomorrow night as things seem to be progressing right along, hopefully there are no suprises! I really hate it when that happens....
Thats "Thanks for the encouragement". I tried to edit the post but apparently thats not an option in the new format the forum is on, but you probably knew where I was going with it....
One more try...More pics...

Well I got the one 40 gallon tank up. Still a bit cloudy unfortunately buthere it is anyways. Its got 8 Pink Birdsnest, 2 Orange Montipora Digitata, One Gono., one Hydnopora Digita, one Cup coral, and six other misc SPS corals. Still got about a dozen more that need to go in there, I am just kinda getting past my point of "productivity" for tonights foray.
None the less still lots more work in the month ahead....
BTW Jim, if your really missing that electric bill I can forward it to you to pay so you can really appreciate not being the one stuck with the bill every month! LOL

Are you going to run this as a closed system hooked to a huge fuge or individual filtration? BTW looking awesome, this will be an interesting thread to follow for a long time!!!

Hey that looks great. If I had more room and ohh yaa the wife would allow it I would do something similar.
Well Condiman, the only reason I do get away with it...is cuase I am still "single and like to mingle"! Just dont know how much longer. So I figure its easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission. As such I figure I had best get while the getting is good!!! LOL
Gman, its definitely going to be a work in progress for a while until things are se up like I want them. Unfortunately they are glass thanks that cost me 32.00 each as opposed to acrylic which I would have prefered which would have ran me 60.00 plus. So they will all probably have thier own little filtration systems which I realize isnt optimal, at least on the 15's anyways. I will probably be making the 40's which will have SPS only go to a refugium above the tank that will gravity feed back into the tank though. The 15's will primarily be Softies only, anyways... I have to get some lighting set up, get some equipment and get the rest of my crap divided up and situated before I start getting too creative. There will be lots more pics to follow....
O.G. Promp Pimp...How funny, you guys are outta control!

Use a pool filter on a overflow system i was thinking about it today at work and you could use 4'' pvc in line with foam carbon what ever your choice and just put it in line like a fuel filtergood little idea i think afraid to drill your tank? neat trick hold up 2 polarized lenses one in one outside and rotate the front one (line them up when you look) if its tempered you will see a pattern in the glass if its clear its not tempered :-D
thanks for the tip! I didnt know that about glass Bigfoot. No Gman I think I will just stick to the Aqua-Clear 300 & 500's I am running for the moment. Later I might run a closed loop system though...
Hopefully I will have some updated pics to add later on this week
