I was waiting to post this until I could take a picture with better lighting, but my bulbs were stolen from the doorstep that UPS left them on, so here we go anyway. . .

When I first set up my 'fuge, I had no macro algaes. MikeJS was kind enough to offer me some of his grape caulerpa, which I was more than thrilled to have. When he sent it, it turned out that he had the forethought to throw in some of his sand to help seed my new fuge's sandbed. He also gave me some blue mushrooms!

Since then, the grape caulerpa has overtaken my refugium, and keeps my nitrates at zero and my pH steady at night (with the 'fuge lights on). One of the baby shrooms drifted away in my display tank, so I moved the remaining one to my 2.5 gallon tank. It is reproducing happily, and you can barely see its baby just to the left of the parent.

Thank you, Mike, for your generosity!

Mike, you're welcome. Thanks to you.

SM, I don't know who will pay for new lights. Maybe me! I emailed HelloLights on Sunday to find what recourse they recommend. They have not answered me, so I re-emailed them saying that I think I deleted their original response  and what is their policy? I'm sure they'll tell me to file a claim with UPS, but I want to make sure first. We'll see.

I'm dragging my feet on posting a full tank shot, because I have it completely ghetto rigged for lighting right now. I have the 10W 50/50 bulb in the stock hood, and a 14W 6,500K desk lamp pointed in from the front/side until my hood is finished. So, I can take a picture of the bright tank with a desklamp in front of it, or the dim tank without the extra light. Either way, you can't really see what's inside!

i would think that ups would be responsible since they left the package unattended on your doorstep. if i'm not mistaken your package is automatically insured up to $100 anything valued over $100 its your responsibility to purchase the additional coverage, but i'm not sure if its your resposibility to file a claim or the senders, in any case you may have recourse thourgh your credit card company, you shouldn't have to pay for goods you didn't receive

Thanks for reminding me about the credit card insurance. I had forgotten about that. I plan on calling HL tomorrow if they don't send an email by lunch. That way I can start a claim if the ball really is in my court.

Sheldon,

Thanks for the offer, but you don't need to bother. I just called HL and they will send another set of bulbs! Bad email response time, but excellent customer service if you speak person to person!

Thanks anyway!
