I have a 10 gallon eclipse system that isnt being used for any thing. It was clean and left outside. the wind slid it across the concrete scratching it up. I was thinking of putting a few Lbs of LR in there and some cheato and just let it grow. I know it needs nutrients. So how do i provide it with what it needs? I dont plan on adding any thing as far as live stock. just cheato, maybe some mud and LR.

I guess what I would do is get a little jalli light set, throw some hermits in there ,feed your hermits flake food , and throw in a little iron here and there. and run your lights on 24/7. once you start getting good algae growth throw in some snails. in my refuge I use refugium mineral mud by Carib Sea. and aragonite on top of that and it has worked very well for me. i like this Carib Sea stuff because it is fortified with trace elements, natural bio-available iodine,calcium,strontium and Iron.
and in know time with adding LR you will have a nice little pod farm there too.

Ice has an excellent idea. You will be amazed at what you will find growing in there.

I have a fug thats been running for quite some time with cheat and caluerpa. with LR and no Pods.
