im thinking about turning my nano from PC to MH. what wattage MH should i get? does anyone have a link to where i can get a canopy? or will i have to build one?

I would hang it over the tank. That way you wouldn't have to worry about heat build up in the canopy. It also helps the tank stay cooler I think.

k thats a good idea. its ta 10 gal nano. wut wattage should i get? i plan to keep frogspawn, shrooms, montipora, zoos, rics, GSP, and xenia. this will mainly be a frag growing tank.

150 watt should be suffecent with maybe a higher kelvin rating.

Might be better off with a lower kelvin rating.
I had a 70W 10k HQI with a 32W aquatic PC on my minibow when I changed tanks I added a 150W HQI 20k to a nanocube. The 70W 10K gave me better growth than the 150W and for the size of the tank the 70W was plenty.

I did 70 watts MH over a minibow but without the 32 watt PC's . Once I'd switched over from the 32 watt PC's to the 70 watt 10K MH, the rate of growth on the corals was unreal.

Well... You either build a custom canopy or just have the hanging from your ceiling.
Sorry but on a tank that small I got no answers for you there, at least no easy ones.

Ive been reading around and ive seen a nano with clams and sps with only a 32 w retrofit on it. Im not sure how this is possible.

i'm sure that you can do clams and sps with 32w pc but that doesn't mean that they will thrive under those conditions or what their longevity will be. on a minibow i think a pendant mh would be the easiest way to go
