My mom had a dog named Turtleweed. I thought she was nuts and had just made it up.
I could be wrong. I think its Turtle Grass not Turtle Weed. I just assmumed thats what was being discussed...Hopefully I wasnt mistaken....

ya it's turtle grass (Thalassia). turtle grass can be used in a refuge but they require high lighting and at least a 6" sand base, and you have to watch out for root balling on them. if there roots balls up, they'll get root rot. and die.

Thanks for the inside track on that! I will have to make a mental note of that. I knew it would take a DSB but wasnt sure about the root structure in that regard.

Turtle Weed (Chlorodesmis Fastigiata) and Turtle grass (Thalassia) are two different things. Turtle weed is also known as Maidens Hair and grows on the rocks. Turtle grass grows in the sand bed.
