I got some brillo alage. Now do i need 24/7 lighting or can i go with 5 hrs of no lights? (thats how long i sleep normaly)

some go 24/7 and do a reverese light schedule its up to you i would say 5 hours lights out would be fine

I kept my fuge lights on 24/7 and the chaeto I had in there grew like crazy, but yeah...it's really a matter of personal preference. I know there are some macros that by running the lights 24/7, it reduces the chance of the macro going asexual on you and releasing green soup into the tank. Certain types if caulerpa I believe. Not up on that stuff much anymore since I'm now fuge-less. (sniff, sniff :()

most caulerpa needs time out away from the light, but I have mine under my cheato and I run my lights 24/7, I use to run my lights on a reverese light schedule,and I found running 24/7 my cheato grows 3 times faster the faster it grows the more it's pulling from the water.
