This is my DIY stand setup. Total cost was probably about $200

wow...very nice! Obviously a closed top otherwise those photos would be swimmin' with the fishies. My canopy is open top and I cringe to think of all the dust that settles in the tank on a daily basis. :shock:

I made the canopy with plenty of room. I didn't want to remove the canopy every time I needed to do something. I probably could have cut it down another 2 inches. It serves the purpose just fine. The stand is built on a 2x4 frame (2 1/2 inch decking screws) then I covered the outside with 1/2 inch oak faced plywood. I left the back of the stand open for plumbing reasons. Oh and I purchased all the material at Home depot.
