Well my 75 gallon has also been cycling for 2 weeks and 3 days now and my nitrites are still up there also. My last tank was the same way. My Nitrites have dropped slightly over the weekend. I'm sure your tank will move through the cycle soon.... be patient!

Cycling is the build up of a variety of bacteria strains. From looking at your results it shows you have not built up enough niitrifing bacteria to convert nitrite to nitrates yet. Probable cause is that to much ammonia is still being processed. Are you cureing new LR in the tank?? what are your other parameters like

If your tank is free of livestock, let the cycle run its course....

The DSB will take some time before it begins to reduce nitrate....

I'm with Mike let the cycle run it's course. Also are you not going to add any LR to the tank? If you are be warned that you should experience another cycle when you do add the LR.

From what I have heard volcanic rock can release some metals into the water that are not advisable. I would trytry to get some base rock (dirt cheap) like the one from http://www.hirocks.com .

I don't know if this has any relation to the nitrates readings you're experiencing but just some food for thought. Maybe somebody else can clarify this for us.
