Here's the tiny tank still going strong. I do a 10% water change weekly and dose a few drops of b-ionic every other day or so. The sexy shrimp and other critters get a few flakes of whatever happens to be the food of choice for the 30 every other day. I also add a few drops of dt's phyto every other day as well.

Overfeeding is a major no no in a tank this small as it is difficult enough to keep the water params in check and inhibit the growth of nuisance algae. I can always tell when I've fed too much, I get the slightest dusting of cyano on the sand and glass which a water change and a swipe of the mag cleaner seems to keep at bay.

Here's a shot of the coolest encrusting sponge I've encountered in any of my tanks. This one started growing under the yuma ric about 2 months ago and is getting a bit bigger each day. The pic doesn't do the color justice. It's a beautiful lemon yellow.

That's beautiful. I have a 2.5 in my garage, and now it's calling my name! You have good reason to be proud!

Thanks gang. It's a great little tank - I have to say, I really am enjoying it. The anthelia is finally starting to spread up along the back glass. I was hoping the gsp would too but it looks like I may have to slice off a piece of gsp and glue it on the glass instead to get it going. The tulip anemones are still reproducing like mad and soon will be waging war with the yuma rics for rock space. Every so often I'll find one or two that have moved off to another part of the tank, but for the most part the little tulips seem to prefer that particular rock.

I'm using 2x13 watt 50/50 PC's.

Haha not to bug you but you were such a help in the beginner's forum. Do you mind my asking what kind of tank and where you got your lighting from? That is a beautiful tank, coral like that is why I want to get into the hobby, forget the fish...

Thanks lazy8s. It's a stock 2.5 gallon all-glass tank with a custom canopy and base made by this guy: http://home.earthlink.net/~reefcanopy/

The canopy houses 2 - 13 watt 50/50 power compacts. I'm using an aquaclear mini for circulation and to run carbon and I have a 25 watt compact heater in there. About 1/2" of LS from my large tank and a couple of chunks of LR.

I really wouldn't recommend starting with such a smalll tank, it really does require more attention than a bigger nano would. A 10 gallon is a great starting point for a nano and there are a ton of lighting choices to put over a 10 gallon tank.

Good luck to you!

its a AGA (All Glass Aquarium) 2.5g tank 12"x6"x8", it does look larger until you take into account the size of the corals compared to the overall size of the tank

I gotta say SM, for a little tank that thing is bangin'!

Now that I am all pumped up and motivated, I think I will have to find me a tanks thats on the smaller side of things and see if I can dupilcate your fantastic results or at least come close to it. It looks like it would be too cool!
