Mike will love your deep sand bed. Looks good and clean for a starting tank. I think Mike can help you with that deep sand bed question.

Wow.....now that's a DEEP sand bed.... :D

the dark streak may be just some bacteria growing in that layer near the tank glass where it can get light....or it could be some deliterious particulate matter settling towards the bottom (or migrating to the top) I get colored streaks through my DSB from time to time....

I get the colored streaks on my sandbed too.

That is a really nice set up. What type of lighting are you going to use?

Looks good.... Looks like to me that it should be one more light longer.

But I like having my tanks lit up...

wonder if they have any that will fit a 72 inch tank???

looks good, you can keep the lower light corals along the sides and cram all the light lovers dead center.

the light stand came with it, kind of kit that can hold up to 10kilos.
no heat, just light, was suprised about that.

yeah there the 5 bulb version out 100watts
http://www.kowasystem.co.jp/ks_system/gp5_02.jpg
this model has a chois of witch or how many light you want on
1~5.

i prefer my tanks to have shade so i didnt get it, and any way i prefere
to go spots if i want to color up something in particular

not as crazy as this but along the same lines
:D

so you can add spot lights of different color and intensity where ever you need extra light? sounds cool, so whats the par of the bulbs that came with your fixture?

funkybozu
09-14-2004, 02:34 AM
dont know what a par is Cich, all i know about the caracteristics is that
i have 2 17000K bulbs that are 21Watts each , they together give out about the same as a 150watt MH at 15' deep, any further and they lose power at un incedibule rate, plus a blue light
by far not as good as MH bulbs for deep penetration but sinse my thak is not very deep

:)

Oh i just finaly recieved 20kilos of LR , finaly

PAR = Photosyntetically Available Radiation...

I have a tough time finding PAR ratings on bulbs....also this value is a funtion of tank depth as well....
