Hi everyone!

The road has been long and the road has been hard, but I think I've almost gotten my tank to where I want it to be so I can start putting corals and all sorts of other goodies.

However, I once again need your advice!

Here is my tank when I first started: http://www.coralforum.com/ftopic2400.html

Lots of microbubbles in the pics, but my remora has since then been broken in so it's a lot better now.

Attached are new pics!

I had to build a shelf to suspend the 120W MH over my tank (thank you, Home Depot!).

So you can see the tank... you see the light... you see my fan.

My water temp has always been at a consistent 78-degrees. Now with the MH (suspended 7.5 inches over my 14-gallon nano), the temp sloooooooooooooooooowly rises to 81.5 degrees by the end of the day, by then the lights turn off (I have them on a timer: 9am - 6pm).

Here's the question(s):

Is this fluctation in temp bad for the tank? Can this be resolved by raising the light a bit higher? If so, how much higher? Any suggestions on resolving this?

Thanks much!

I've relied so much on this forum to build my tank!

p.s. hahaha... the pics i posted are frickin HUGE! sorry!

hmm....78-81.5 slowly...that's really not too bad...as long as it is happening slowly, I would not be too worried about it. However, keeping it as constant as you can is of course more desireable...

thanks for the comment!

it takes the entire day for the temp to rise up those couple of degrees so i didn't think it would be much of a problem either, but i wanted confirmation

thanks much!
