my first frag

today i did my first frag. i took my bullseye mushroom, and my new stainless steal knife, and i cut it in half. i superglued them to a peice of LR. i only used a small dab of super glue, but a little of it went over the sides of the mushrooms foot. not on the head though. will they be able to expand now? or did i mess up?

im looking for some netting i have too so i can rubberband it but i have to find it first.

i also placed them in a low current area. is that good?

Go to a fabric store or even walley world I belive has this too and buy a yard. Its really cheap!

It sounds like you did a good job. You can use wedding veil material I use it for most all of my shroom frags.

i took the netting off today, and they are stuck :)

luckilly for me my mom (i have no clue why) had about 20 feet of bridal veil in her fabric storage place!!! she sews alot

im leaving for my grandparents house until thursday, so i hope its good until then. i set my timer so it will only turn on actinics and not the whtie lights why im gone, to hopefully cut back some algea growth.

i also chipped off a little peice of rock from my zoo colony. i counted 9 polyps when i did it, and today i counted 12 :)

btw nanoman, do you have an auto top-off system on your tank? If not you might want to have someone add some water each day while you're gone so you don't have too much of a salinity change.

no i dont have auto top off which i need to get. though, i also only let the actinic go on to stop algea growth, and water evap. i filled the water up to the point where if i stuck my arm in the tank it would overflow off the sides. plus, i will only be gone for 2 days. when im gone for 5 days or longer ill have my neighbor come over and add a little bit of distilled water every day, and test salt.
