Hi Folks
My RO and 'Reef Crystal' Water mix is on pH 7.8.
And my calclium levels are low.
What supplement/mix would you recommend.
Thanks

Kalkwasser may be a good option here...it raises pH and adds calcium and alkalinity...

Is Kalkwasser litterally lime water - if so could I simply use clalcium hydroxide powder and make my own? This would be a tiny fraction of the ost of kalkwasser?
thanks

I use pickiling lime and it works great. But I think it is kind of odd that RC has a ph of 7.8 when mixed. I have a few other friends who use it and there ph usually sticks around 8.3.

I am also getting an ammonia reading from the salt - I wonder if I have a contaminated batch or something

maybe your getting a false reading from your test kit, try taking a sample the the lfs or if you have a nearby buddy test with his kit just to confirm the reading
