This really falls into several different topics, fish, corals, inverts, and so on. Just curious, get's the options out to the newbies like myself. If you have a Pic that would be awesome.

I don't have any thing but a few fish in my tank. I think the Dragon headed goby is really cool. The first multi colored SW fish I got. I had a Red Sea Blonde Naso Tang that I was in love with, the most beautifal looking fish in the world. But unfortunaltley I lost not long ago do to my own inexperence, that kills me.

But other than that I'm easy to please, I really like the 3 neon blue damsels I have and the Orange striped clown. Even the cleaner shrimp I sit and watch for every night because I find him so interesting and in certain ways humorus.

Acck where did the spell check option go :?:

N.,

My fav fish is my male lyretail anthias (see my avatar). He shows off very well around meal times! My favorite coral is probably my Bali finger leather. As far as inverts go, my skunk cleaner shrimp is the most interesting, but I have a whole bunch of fancy banded serpent star hitchhikers that I like to see peeking out of every niche.

I'm a newbie too, so I know there are many favorites still to come to my tank!

percula clownfish - they are perfect for aquariums - social, interesting, easy to keep, fairly cheap, colorful and a lot of fun. my favorite invert is probably my anemone or porcelain crabs.

Got to be my porcupine Puffer. He puppy dogs you around the tank and will come up and eat out of your hand. In the pic he even looks like he is smiling.

Oh and for mine.. Well other than my braver little scarlet hermits. Mine is my spider decorator crab. He tends to grab any ones attention enough I have to clean the nose and finger prints off of the tank every few days.

My favorite fish is my bi-color blenny- "Otis" he is so cute darting around the tank in and out of holes in the rock and is always watching me with his little blue eyes :D

And for corals- My sun's are by far my favorite, so beauiful and so gratifying to keep.

I guess if I had to pick one favorite it would be my Midas Blenny. I think my Potters Angel is the prettiest but the Midas is just do much fun.

My fav. has to be My Yellow Tang I call him "undertaker" he was half dead when he was given to me by a LFS that thought he wouldn't make it, he was so bad he still has the scar from a powerhead on his side. Benny the Lawnmower Blenny he has to be the most fun to watch..

Mojo Mike,

I've gone through pages and pages of Star Trek crap on Google, and can't find anything about your Borg Cube coral. Do you happen to know the scientific name? I just want to find out more about it. . .

Thanks!

i like my six inch eel he loves to eat but when i put tiny fishes like when i bought two tiny blue tangs they suddenly dissapeared, i think eel ate it, and when i bought an anemone crab the eel ate it, it just been in my tank for five minutes and i saw my eel eat it did not know eels eat crabs. but still i love my eel.

Mojo Mike,

I thought it looked like a frogspawn! I was just intrigued by the name (I'm not a Trekky). I hope mine gets that dense a gorgeous someday! It only has to get eleven times larger to look that good.

Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Humm thats a tough call to make....But I would have to say I like my Miniatus Grouper. Not much of a social butterfly unless your tank mates are too big to be dinner, but good Lord what a eye popping colorful fish it is! Unlike a lot of Groupers it doesnt spend much time sulking or hidding but always out and about. Feeding time...Thats a lot of fun too!!!

FishinInTheDark
08-23-2004, 04:09 PM
Expat,

Do you have pics of feeding time?

Conni

08-23-2004, 06:10 PM
Are you kidding? That joker doesnt mess around at dinner time! I am not sure a bolt of lighting is that quick on the jump  !!! Its a lot quicker than my large Boa's are on the strike if that gives you any indication to put it in perspective....

Maybe I can get a friend to come over and take pics at feeding time and post one somewhere here. That would be a cool idea though...its just so fast, I am sure getting a good one would be pretty tough to do and take a few tries to get it just right to have a decent pic or two.

Now you got me thinking.......hummm

That's a gorgeous fish!

08-24-2004, 11:17 AM
Thanks!

I would really like to get a couple more but I hear they dont fair so well in "groups" unless the tank is really, really big! I am tempted to see if 300 gallons is big enough if there are enough hiding spots. It would be great to get them to spawn. Even if not a couple about 9-12 inches cruising around would sure look pretty spiffy. That one is about 7 inches or so at the moment. Its got a lot of personality too. Upon occasion while looking at it, I have had it charge up, gills flaired like it was going to kill a big bear and stop short of the glass. Its a pretty impressive display!

Hummm, maybe one day I will get one of those big stupid gallon tanks, and...

Nice ric by the way, I am so Jealous. Hopefully I can jump on that bus soon too. I just got my first and only ric, a Torquoise/Blue and it looks pretty nice, But I am really diggin' yours!

Sugar Magnolia
08-25-2004, 03:57 PM
This'll give you a bit better shot of that ric. When I got it last year it was a single ric with three mouths, about the size of a silver dollar. It's now about the size of a softball when fully opened, as is that green striped shroom behind the squammy and goby. Very purty coral!

Mother of God  thats a big mantis shrimp! I am with ssn774, in fact I might just leave the night light on tonight!
