You can really see how the diy rock fills in like normal rock in this picture. On the bottom left the base 4 rocks are diy live rock in the tank for only 2 weeks. On the far right are 3 brand new diy live rocks. You can see how the ones that have been there for 2 weeks blend in with the real live rock much better. I like this idea quite a bit, otherwise I would not have been able to have this much live rock in the tank. Although I like to pick up a pound of rock when I go to the lfs just for the bugs I get and making it does take some time, I think this is a great way to build a base.
