VHO's you want to part w/

I'm in Texas, Austin area to be exact. After talk w/ MikeJS and searching around, I've come to the conclusion that I need a VHO set up. Here's the deal I need a 24" set up. My buget.. :( not much. If any one has anything new old used let me know, I know I probably won't be able to afford new ones. TIA

I would not use the used VHO bulbs, unless you were sure they are under 6 months old. VHO's have a lifespan between 10-18 months, depending on the ballast. If nobody here has VHO's for sale, you can check ebay....and since you will be primarily interested in the ballast and endcaps, you won't need to worry as much about the length of bulb being sold.

Mike True but the hood would have to be replaced, implying the size of the hood, however I can make do with what ever I can get. As for the bulbs I would only assume they should be replaced, it just looking for units.

Am I going about that wrong. The hood is the plastic single tube hood, I was planning on using the egg crate metioned with a light then what ever light would sit a top eventually enclosed in a wood hood to match with a couple fans.
