He has to go I just cant believe my luck today gone is my lawnmower blenny and mandrin!!! He was happily eating the both of them, I saw him take a snap at a damsel too so I am sure it was him what are the chances something else did it? Some ALGEA eater!!!! My green emerald is 1/3 the brown one's size and he has been in the tank since the begining so I dont understand either why he isnt the bigger one? The brown one was smaller than the green one when I bought him. Has anyone had a carnivore emerald? My green one is well behaved and stays to himself but I knew the brown one had to go when he was attacking my net with such aggresiveness and strength and now 2 of my fish that he made his dinner. I am just feeling bad for him because I am not someone to return an animal after I have made a commitment to them and I dont know where he will end up...Could he be a different type of crab? that resembles a emerald crab? I cant find a pic of a brown emerald but read somewhere that they can come in a brown color. Anyway, he is outta here 2-morrow. Any suggestions for transport? Just a ziploc bag and some tank water would be ok right? AHHHHHHH Why me? Everyday it is something ya know and all was just fine a week ago.

With the exception of Hermits I havent had any "good" experiences with crabs and have tried several. Yes even Emerald crabs have been caught red handed in my tank. As such I dont keep any of them these days. Just not worth the risk they pose to some of the other inhabitants. I do stock about 1 hermit to a gallon though or there abouts.....

Crabs (even hermits)for the most part are omnivorous they'll eat anything when they're hungry. As to why one is bigger than the other that varies from species 2 species so is just normal that your emeral is smaller.
