Hi,

I currently have a Trigon 190 tank that has been a freshwater tropical setup. I am now considering converting this to a marine setup. Can anyone give me any advice on what I need to do and buy to set me on my way.

Thanks Stu

well first off you need to clean it.. it needs to be washed really good. next you have to decide on what kind of tank its going to be.. fish only, fish only with live rock, or a reef tank. then you can start deciding on other things.

The first thing that will dictate what you can do with it is, if you ever used any kind of treatment or medication that had copper in it then you will be limited to fish only, no corals.

Other than that at this stage I would suggest lots of research and the only thing I would buy would be some good beginner reef books.

Welcome.

If you have not read through the articles yet this is a good one to start.

What kind of setup do you already have? filter, lights, substrate etc.

Good Luck

? would'nt it be safe if you wasted it out with a 50 percent water and 50 percent vinegar, we did that in a friends tank that he use to use as a fresh water tank and he added copper to it all the time.
and he's had coral in his tank for about 2 years now and has never had any traces of copper in it. but then again it sat in his garage for 3 day with that mixture in it till we cleaned it out? or whould it just be safer to say we got lucky???
