can sand dollars be kept in a reef tank i they only eat algae and detiritus on sand.

what i mean is could i catch some warm water species from the wild and put them in my aquarium. :roll:

You can, but crushed coral doesn't act well with them...as they like sand for substrate.
If you have sand in your aquarium, you'll end up having dead spots because it compacts so tight....so a sand sifting star fish possibly...and a sand dollar or colony of sand dollars would be neat...They'll be fine, but probably will die if you just plop them in...I've kept them with success here, as we have them in mass quantity here.
