I've recently purchased a candycane frag and am wondering what's the best treatment for it? I've seen several pictures and they all have corals that look very "fleshy". At it's best mine never looks anything like that.
Any advice?
Thanks,
JanMarie
I kept mine on throck in low vflow area. What kind of lighting do you have?

I am running 2 - 250w metal halides, 2 - 4' actinics and 2 - 4' fluorescents. The MH are on about 8 hrs a day, I think. The others fill in the rest of the time, for a total of about 16 hrs.

I think it's been in the tank about a month now - maybe a little less. It has been moved around a little because it's been toppled over occassionally. Right now it is in the center of the tank about 16" under the surface of the water. The halides are 10+" above the water surface, the other lights are a couple inches above the water. There is a glass lid.

I have heard that candy coral does not like direct MH very much...but I'm not sure if this is true. I'd move it a bit lower, maybe partially shaded, in an area of medium flow....see if this helps...
