I was doing some research into the white sebae anenome I have. I was looking for feeding tips, and how to know that the anenome is healthy. I did a google search and came across a couple posting where the question was raised, how to get their white sebae back to its original color. Its beginning to become a shade a brown, where the replys were indicating that is what he should be doing. The posters went on to explain that there is no such thing as a white sebae anenome, if it is white either it has been died that color or it was so misshandled, that it has already lost all of its protective coating. Either way they went on to explain, the anenome is on its way to recovery since its becoming brown.

Is that true? I found saltwaterfish.com specificly sells a white sebae anenome. So now i am terribly confused. My anenome has a slight hint of brown appearing on some of the tenacles so is it returning to its natrual color?

Here is a pic from yesterday:

Ive never heard of a white anenome. Normally when they are a white color they are referred to as "bleached". This means they released there coloring, due to something stressing them. What type of lights do you have?

yeah, I agree, a white anemone is one that has probably expelled its symbiotic algae...I'd avoid that one...

The lighting is 2 55 watts blue, and a 10000K white bulbs.
When I purchased the anemone he was almost pearl white, and actually have been told by two seperate FS that it appears very healthy.

As I said some of the tenicals are returning to a brownish hue. I know that the white anemone is not stinging, because he was being walked all over by one of the clearer shrimp. Where when the shrimp tried that on the carpet anenome he was stung and stuck almost instantaniously
