I have the same type but not that one specifically. It works great, easy to use and monitor.

I have never used one I use titanium heaters, but I've read on a few other sites of people frying there tank from them.
but then again good ones will do that too. I'll only get heaters that have a, Automatic protection mechanism actives when sensor wiring is disconnected or shorted.
but if this heater has that built into it go for it .

My only advice is don't skimp on your equip, especially the heater. As mentioned above I have read many threads where people have fried their tanks when their cheap heaters malfunctioned. I also use titanium and they work great.

Bump.
Mental note, replace heaters on tanks given as "gifts." I received my current tank in not the most optimum of conditions. I've been able to pull it full circle to 0.0 NO3 readings last weekend WOHOO!!
Now to the heating conundrum. I calibrated my heater in a batch of di water to 78F. Last night it cooked my tank and when I woke(88.9F), I had some rather cooked shrimp (thought it was my new RO/DI unit -- WHEW!).
I'm looking to purchase a titanium heater, but I don't know much about the different brands.. I was thinking about one of these...

Save the digital readout as I have a 10$ digital thermo now and I figure that extra 20-30$ could go to a future controller.
Does anyone have any experience with this brand? Will it do me good?
Also, I think it cooked my zoos a little bit... But I won't know till I get home tonight.. Do zoos cook as easy as shrimp??
