Thats a cool thing to see, im still waiting for my LTA to split. So my clarkii can have its own place. The tomato bullied him out of the current one. I thought about buying another one, but then I thought the splitting procedure could get out of hand.

Well went home today at lunch to find that my LTA has started to split. It very strange looking to see the big one turn into two medium sized anenomes like twins. But none the less it saves me money on buying another one. I cant believe it split in just over a month time frame. I thought it would of taken longer. The question I do have though is once the splitting is complete with they both stay in the same area or will one move?

They normally move, all the others I've seen have moved anyhow. Although I suggest moving it yourself to prevent it wandering around touching corals.
No anemones in powerhead, i have heard of that a lot and that is a very bad way to loose an anemone.

I don't know about the moving thing mine are all staying on the same rock for now ,I need to get some more rock to put around the one there on and see if maybe they'll start moving. plus put them down on the sand bed, maybe if I can get them away from the light a little?

Far out, you must be doing something right. :)

They only move when they want to change conditions. Such as poor lighting, too strong of lighting or current, etc. fishgills, is right, you must be doing something right if they aren't moving, but if they do start moving around, be sure to watch your corals, as they will sting them. Watch powerheads as well, as Zack has stated.
Are you target feeding them yet?

I've been target feeding from the starts, they seem to like krill soaked in vita chem and zoe con. anemones like fatty acids.

Yea they like a lot of fatty things.
Try feeding them shrimp from the market or something...like big Gulf shrimp or something soaked in vita chem and zoe con. Or squid.

meaty foods are the fav for anemones.
Oh yeah, earlier in this thread I mentioned my BTA's turned into 5 BTA's. Well, I have 9 now!! I guess you could say they are happy but their owner is getting a little flustrated. I don't mind the splitting I just mind how they are travling all around my tank and ticking everyone else off.

I really think BTA's almost need a tank of their own with liverock in there...and some clown's ;)

I'm starting to agree with that. I think it's ok to have them in a reef tank as long as you have one that doesn't split or move around much. But with what I am facing with my BTA's I'm getting ready to move them to their own tank before I start loosing my other livestock.

Yeah, that's what a lot of people I know are doing...
Reef tank conditiions are just too perfect, or should I say, "some" reef tank conditions are 'perfect'. Thus making it hard to keep aneneomes because they grow like wild flowers.
I don't keep anenomes, the only time I keep them, is in my store and they are normally gone within a few days, so I don't keep them long enough to enjoy them and be angry with them for fighting with everything in the tank  But once I get my greenhouse reorganized, I'll be moving my tanks there...and no more greenhouse, it'll be a fish house (followed by a evil scientist laugh). My liverock vats are going to be lit with 2, 1000 watt halide pendants. I'll end up keeping more than liverock in the vats probably with those 1,000 watters, probably try my hand with the anenomes and culturing them.

Now that's a good idea - using a greenhouse. We would like to build a saltwater pond and put a greenhouse type structure around it.
Noiw that would be a cool project, let me know if you continue on that idea.

I already have. :)
I'm in the process of finishing the digging on our saltwater liverock pond...its near the beach, so I'll pump in gulf water from about 2500 feet out... :)
Our pond will be about 10,000 gallons. That's just one though heh.

Yeah its going to be an awesome project.
The hole is about 75% done, and it actually won't be finished for another month or so...
I get back home on the 21st...I can't continue digging with the backhoe until about the 25th.
So you won't see any progress pictures for a little while.
