I'd like to try to build a refugium, does anyone have any ideas? It's for my 55g. Any info would be appreicated. Thing is I'm not to handy at building things but i'd love to give it a try. Thanks

This looks right up your alley:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4301370015&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
And it's only $30. Also, there's tons of DIY articles for refugiums around the Reef forums, in FAQ's or resource libraries. In addition to here on CoralForum.com, You will find instructions on building one.

basicly what this guy is selling is a couple pieces of acrylic cut to a certain size, your local glass/plastic shop can do the samething, before i bought anything from this seller i would check out this thread on ReefCentralhttp://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=302314

i have never dealt with this guy but i thought i would give a heads up anyway

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I DID realize that it was just the pieces and you buy an aquarium to silicone them too, but it sounds like he's done some shady stuff prior, so I'd avoid just to be safe.

I iwas inquiring about a refugium at the LFS and the guy told me all he had was one for $25.00 in the size I wanted but it was used and it wasn't a refugium it was a sump. So I asked what I needed to get it running? and he said a lot especially the pump since it was $80. I thought about it for a sec and he said I tell you what you buy the pump and I'll give you the sump. As I looked at the sump I realized that with a little acrylic I could easily convert it to a refugium. I got it all put together and now I am just waiting on an overflow to arrive since no one locally carries them. All for pretty cheap.
