If i put a 40 gallon tank up how many leaffish can i keep in it? they only get about 4 inches long and they just sit there they dont move much.

well you can go by the 2 inch per gallon thing so if by that you can keep around 5 of them..

I'd say 4 max. They spend a lot of time around the bottom, so need room. The top part of the tank will not get used much. If you have a fair bit of live rock, I'd even say three max... :(
