:? We are moving a 55 gallon reef tank 30 minutes away. This wouldn't be a problem except we have to be out of our old house 24 hrs before we move into the new one.

I have about 130lbs of live rock, 2 1/2" of live sand, numerous LPS & SPS corals, about 100 crabs & snails and 6 fish. I don't want to disturb the live sand, but how do I keep it "live" for this period of time.

This is Florida so the temperatures will be getting quite warm during this move. Should everything be packed in styrofoam? I'm just not real sure how to proceed. Any help will be appreciated. :)

wow. ive seen people move their tanks and had so many problems but ill tell you how they did it. they got a big cooler. filled it half way with the water and them put their corals in. then they got the rest of the water out into another cooler but left like 1 inch of water. then they got a few people to carry it to a truck and then drive it off to the new house with a guy watching it from the truck of the bed. oh yeah move all the live rock and stuff into buckets.try not to disturb the sand to where it gets too cloudy up. and when they got to the house they filled it back up with some of the water and then mixed new water and put that in and let it run for awhile and then slowly acclimated all the corals again.

i just put everything into seperate coolers. fish into ione cooler, corals into another cooler, just sand into another cooler. try to get batter operated airpumps. i had everything living in cooler's for 2 weeks in my garage while i switched out tanks. you arent going to get the sand out with out disturbing it, and as soon as you start pulling out rock it will get cloudy so dont worry about that either.
good luck
