here's what I do so far....make sure the aquarium glass is nice and clean...I take the pics at night so I can shut off the lights in the room....no reflection from the glass.
I take the pics at an angle to the tank glass, this seems to help the camera to focus on my subject, not the tank glass. I take a LOT of pics....for every good one, I get 10 bad ones.
I wish I had a better camera.

I found what works for me is , like you said clean glass, and I turn off my flash, and take a lot of my macro shots just about lens on the glass , like you said at a angle, usally a down ward angle so I don't get the glare from my lights.

the shrooms were labeled as "melon striped" mushroom polyps at the LFS....I've had them for about 2 years now, and they spread like wildfire, there are patches of them all over the tank.
The pictures really don't do them justice....they glow an incredible green under actintic light, they are very beautiful....

are those the same thing as the green striped mushrooms?

they look alot alike, but the stripes are less pronounced and the green is much more vivid.
