my tank has been cycled now for about 1.5 months and I am just now taken the damsels back to the LFS. They give a trade in value for the fish used to cycle! anyway, I have added two clowns. Not the percula but the ones that look the same?? Starts with an O??
Anyway, in addition to these two fish I have added two golden head sleeper gobys. I am very happy with the fish and they seem happy as well. Everyone is getting along as expected. Being that this is a somewhat peaceful tank, I would hate to disrupt it with the addition of new tank mates. However, I have developed eye for the larger angel fish. Many of them are impressive. Does anyone have any advice as to what would be a good choice as far as angel fish go? Something that is not going to bother these fish as well as possible tank mates in the future.

a lot of the angelfish are semi-agressive. maybe if you go to the lfs and find a tank where there is an angelfish that is in a tank with other mates it might be less agressive and you can get that.

Keep in mind that Angels can not be put into a reef tank. Think about this for the future if you do not have a reef tank now. Some butterflies are cool looking to. I would not put an Angel or Butterfly into the tank for at least 4-6 months after the tank has been up though. These fish need to go into a tank that is mature and stable. Just b/c your tank has cycled does not mean your ready for these fish.

I agree with Big Jim on this too early for Angels or Butterflys. Here is a link to a SW fish Compatibility chart. Maybe it can help you with your fish sellection. http://www.aquariumstuffers.com/compatibility.cfm

that is somewhat of a debateable subject...many members here keep dwarf angles in their reefs with absolutely no problems. But they do have a bad reputation in reef tanks, undeserved or not...so caution is recommended when adding them.

Sorry, I didn't mention dwarf angels. You can keep some of them in a reef tank. I was speaking of the larger angels and butterflies. The Flame Angel is the best dwarf to keep safely in a reef and it looks cool  Obviously I am biased since I have one in my reef tank.

Thanks, for the advice. I do like the dwarf angels ie, the Flame angel and the coral beauty however, I am thinking I would like to add a larger fish to the aquarium. The Maculosus Angelfish seems to be a pretty hardy fish. What have you all heard? Is it going to be OK with the Gobys??
