I was on drsfostersmith.com recently and I saw this test kit. Its a dip test kit, kind of like what you use in a jacuzzi. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=4448&Ne=40000&R=8755&N=2004+113074 .Does anyone think that this is any good and accurate???????????//

I've seen them advertised before. I don't however know too much about their accuracy.

I have used dip tests on my freshwater tanks. I was having a terrible time figuring out why there was always ammonia and high nitrates in established tanks. Well, when I bought some better tests kits, I found that my readings had all been good. Those strip tests are notorious for being unreliable.
Good luck,

I use them everyonce in a while, considering I'm in the pool business.
The reason they are unreliable is because they have a shelf-life for one, and two sometimes people leave the cap off the bottle and moisture ruins the tests, you won't even know it, because its usually not enough moisture to turn the pads colors...so stay away from Dip Tests....buy a Salifert!
