here's a picture I got the other night.
my blood red fire shrimp was going after some brine shrimp that I put in my little patch or red macro, and that's my little pod eating critter,my Diamond goby. but he keep my sand nice and clean,he,he.I have to keep a good supply of macro around for my little sand critters,to breed in.

I like your tank, you take pictures perfectly too...nice macro shots...as in closeups...
I like how you blend macro algaes in with corals...this is an extraordinary feature I love about ya'lls tanks. Looks great. By the way, how often do you 'prune' the algae back?

impressive. I want to start a reef tank in the worst way and i think that just inpored me to start one. I just purchased a 45 gallon tall tank, and I have been trying to figure out what to do with it. Now it has something to become!

Hey icereefer with that gorgonian, it needs to be kept in a place of high current. The reason being is it is prone to develop algae, and cy-bacteria if kept in low current. The species will quickly start falling apart once the growth has started. I have one in my tank also its a very colorful peace. And since they are found in water of 60 ft depth or more, light is not a requirement for them, but current is. Make sure if you are going to keep it there to clean it about twice a week to prevent build up. I have mine fairly close to my power head. Thats cool that you got a shot of it in the day time. Mine normally only comes out fully at night.

looking great as always! :D
Got a question for you on your grape calupera...does yours do wall under direct lighting? Most of my grape calupera under direct lighting is turning white, but it is staying green and growing in the shady areas...

but yes mine does to if in direct lighting ,Im running a 6500k PC. run lighting 24/7.

I've had other types of calupera, but this is my first go with grape...will the white sections recover or is that piece basically dead?

What are the dimensions of your aquarium if I may ask? And how many fishes are there?
icereefer
06-14-2004, 06:11 PM
If your talking about my tank Sweetmisery it's a 18"x24"x22" and I have 5 fish. a pair of perc's, 1-yellow clown goby,1-diamond goby, 1-fridmani
nanoman123
06-14-2004, 06:59 PM
whats a fridmani?
also, doesnt an anenome sorta count as a fish?
Still, thats the best reef tank ive ever seen in my life, seriously, its amazing :eek2: :eek2:
icereefer
06-14-2004, 11:42 PM
fridmani (orchid dottyback)
and no an anemone is a invertabrate (no spine)
and thanks I've put a lot of time and research, in my tank and this is why Im a moderator, because it's sites like this one that has helped me get to this point in reefing, and I just want to be able to give a little back to other reefers in my thanks.
so keep on reefing and keep the questions coming, this is how we'll all grow in our guest to keep the beauty thriving in our homes
