Hi, i am now cycling a FOWLR system it is 75 gallons and i want to put in a mix of two or three of these fish; triggers, lions, and groupers. But i dont know what kind and who can get along, and what fish stay small enoughf to not overstock.

And my secont question is in a month I am going to be seting up a 210 gallon system, I was going to make it reef but the cost is just two much for a kid like me. So i was wondering what if any sharks would work in a tank liek that, or what are nice mixes of fish to put in it.

I currentley have a 75 gallon reef tank, all three tanks will be connected to a 70 gallon sump and 2 seperate 30 gallon sumps for skimming, and a wet dry trickle filter.

Ok, from what I heard Triggers are not a good addition to a reef or LR tank, they tend to eat rock and coral. Never had any experience with this, I am only relating what I have been told.

As far as compatibility of fish goes follow this link and it should answer your questions. http://www.aquariumstuffers.com/compatibility.cfm The chart does say that triggers are compatible with corals usually so maybe the gouge I got was wrong.

Salty,

I have a Trigger in my FOWLR with a Puffer and 2 clarkii clowns and a snowflake eel.

The trigger never bothers my rock, I put down some broken shells for him to chew on, which I would recommend you do the same KWOLFE they like to keep there teeth sharp and filed down, so do this and he will leave your rock alone. I wouldn’t go with either a lion or grouper, if you do, it makes it too hard to get into your tank and clean and move things around. The lion for obvious reasons (poison’s) and a grouper at full size is way too large for a 75, and they are MEAN! If you want to do an aggressive tank go with a trigger and an eel or something like that, stay away from the grouper, they get too large for your tank.

Shark:
A banded bamboo shark are a lot of fun, they will love that 210 gallon tank. They are not aggressive towards other fish, so you can put some clowns, or just about anything. I would go with less aggressive fish, the bamboo shark will kind of move around slow and just kind of hide, they don’t like a lot of light, so you will see them most active at night after the lights go off.

Hope this helps you out a bit.

Scott

I'd go with lions....they are very beautiful, they won't bother coral or other stuff on your LR, and you can keep several together in the same tank...
