Is there a rule of thumb when setting up a water circulation system for your tank?I am going to be setting up a 100 gal FOWLR with a Pro Clear 200 wet/dry with a cap 2200 pump with 420 gph output total.I will be running a built in overflow so i was thinking just putting a multi-angle diffuser on the return.I have an extra cap 2200 pump that i can use to run a powerhead, what is a good one to run just for circulation??There will be more questions 2 come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thanks

I have heard you want enough circulation (all pump's combined total) to turn your tank's volume over 10-15 times an hour. So in a 100 gal, you'd want 1000-1500 gph. ( I think....hopefully others will chime in on this one...)

umm, i thought Wet/drys sucked for SW?? Nitrate factorys?? yea you can get huge powerheads that do 1000gph, but i'd do like 4 powerheads round the 300-400pgh range
