Anthias feeding??

Hey
I recently got an anthias and just finsihed a good article on them in aquarium fish mag. They talk how theyt need to be fed ofton and how they enjoy food like pods and phyto. I have a faily large refugium and would love to start to grow plankton and other food that these fish will eat.

I am looking for help on how to go about setting this up, and starting to grow food down in my refugium. Any ideas help?

i wanted to do the same thing, i would like to get some live mysids shrimp, but they are hard to find, and very expensive if you do find them. i found that to get my pods to grow faster and reproduce that i made 3 partitions in my tank, 1 is sand, 1 is mud, and the other is crushed coral, crushed live rock, and shells the pods really reproduce fast with the hiding places the live rock and cc provide. i also turn my lights off during the day and that seems to help

I could set up crushed rock/CC in one side of the fuge, that will help the pods? Now what about something else that may be easier to cath top go in the main tank?

i dunno, my pod tests have showed that the pump really doesent mess up the pods i also have alot of shrimp that breed and provide alot of plankton like larvae. 6 cleaner's, 3 bloods, and 8 peppermints are in the smaller tank

hmmm, That shrimp idea is interesting please share some more info? How would i go about this? What is the best kind ofshrimp to use, how many ect?

I use the regular cleaner's and peppermint shrimp, i go with 5 of each shrimp that makes sure you get a few females and males, i based this from some articles i have been reading, but in the articles the reefer's had put the shrimp in the refugium, this provided a safe space for the babies to grow a little larger. i put mine in the main tankthough. out of the five cleaner's i have females that produce alot of babies every 5-6 weeks our of the 8 peppermint's i have 6 that produce babies, but because they hide so much i dont know how often they produce
