Hi!

This is the smallest of the 3 tanks that my dad and I own.

As I am studying oveseas, my dad takes care of the aquarium.

This tank is about 5 years old and just had a major "clean up" late last year to due to a number of problems (decomposing/dying anemone, removing undergravel filter, pallida anemone infestation, etc).

Main tank:
-------------

Empty: 430 Litre

With live rocks: 350 Litre

Powerhead: (Currently) One 400L/h

Sump/filter tank:
---------------------

With gravel: 80 Litre

5 chambers:

1. Gravel
2. Phosphate-absorbing granules & active carbon
3. Sand
4. In-sump protein skimmer
5. Clean-water & EHEIM 1260 (2800L/h) pump into main tank

Lighting:
-----------

2 x 40W Actinic Blue
2 x 40W White Spectrum

This is under-powered currently. :(
However, the tank is located semi-outdoor and gets morning sun-light.

Livestock:
-------------

1 Flame Angel
2 Pairs of Percula clowns (2 small, 2 med)
3 Mandarins
2 Magenta Dottybacks
1 Purple Tilefish
5 small Firefish
1 Bluegreen chromis
3 Randall's Shrimp Gobies (w/o the Boxer Shrimps unfortunately)

1 Redlip Blenny
3 small Yellowtail Blue Damsels

3 Scarlet cleaner shrimps
3 Turban Snails

1 Heteractis Maginifica

Leather coral (Sarcophython)
Frogspawn coral
Donut coral
Lobed Braincoral
Goniopora
Plate coral
Greenstar polyps
Tricoral
3 baby Tridacnas
Bubble coral
Mushroom coral
Giant cup coral

We use real seawater, as it is cheap and easily obtained in Indonesia.

As you would probably notice, this tank is quite overstocked.
My mom loves fish, my dad won't argue with her. Arf...
Also, as this tank just underwent a rather big overhaul, things will change. Not to mention, I'm in Australia and tank is Indonesia. :(

no is normal output. and i may be assuming too much, but i think they are PC, cause he has a magnificent sea anemone in there( H. magnifica) and they obviosly need alot of light, cause they are anemones.

ya she's sweet, and I can't believe you don't have more of a aglae bloom problem from that morning sun it gets, 8)
and myself I don't like the crushed coral, I had to many gas pocket problems years ago when I used it.

just wondering? do you have thermo pain or double pain windows? because i know a few hobbies friends that where having a lot of problems with hair algae until they put in darker window shades and I know they all had single pain window.
im looking for answers myself

i had a single pane but now it is a double, i had no problem with either windows, in the summer my friend has a reef going outside.i do have alot of tangs though so that might be the answer of why i dont have a problem
