Thought I may as well put a little about my tanks on here. This one is a 170 litre reef with mainly soft corals. It has been setup since November 2003 (so it is quite young) and is basically a home for the corals until the 180 gallon tank is setup (150 UK gallons).

When that gets setup, all the rock and corals will be moved to the bigger tank and this one will turn into a QT for the fish I put into the 180.

I am running an Eheim 2227 Wet/Dry filter. An 802 and 402 powerhead. LR and LS and an air skimmer...

Excuse the mess of the tank, as I said - it is only a temporary job!

I'll post some more pictures soon and make another post when the 180 gallon is alive and kicking...

MarineMan1234:
That is a Synchiropus picturatus, commonly known as a Spotted/Psychedelic Mandarin Dragonette. They are relitivly peaceful and hardy fish and can be kept in mated pairs (never keep two males in same tank). However, they require a very specific diet and they rarely except prepared food. I do not recommend them for anyone with a tank that is less than 8 to 12 months old as they require a sustainable population of pods in order to meet thier feeding needs. These beauties are all too often purchased by inexperienced persons who cannot provide them with the diet they need and as result they slowly starve to death. If you are considering one of these fish make sure you have mature, large tank (80gallon or more) and a fuge/sump never hurts (you can cycle rocks in and out of main tank to keep pods stocked). Also make sure there are no other competing predators, wrasses, blennys ect.
