I was planning on ordering some corals/fish from liveaquaria.com. This will be my first attempt at a mail order. Anyone ever go through these guys? Success? Failures? Stories? What do you guys think? 8)

I Have ordered everything from dry goods, to LR, and Live Stock!! I have had a few fish DOA or Not make it past a couple of days but they have always been great in taking care of the dead ones. I have had to send a water sample and the fishie back to them but I am planning on ordering from them again in the near future.. I just can't afford my lfs prices and I have dropped by a few of them recently and there are multiple dead fish in the tanks! Would rather go with someone who has a guarantee at least!

I have ordered from them multiple times. My girlfriend actually bought my aquarium from them which was a nightmare. I got 4 broken ones before they actually managed to get me one that wasn't cracked or chipped (shipping a 100lb piece of glass isn't an exact science). I also ordered live rock from them which went really well it arrived in great shape with some life and corraline on it although stuff I ordered from other places later clearly put it to shame. Then I ordered some hermits snails and a abalone from them. This shipment went really well with only 2 hermits not making out of about 30 total pieces or livestock. I didn't have them replaced since it wouldn't have been worth the hassle on a couple of dollars worth of livestock but they have good customer service.

My advice on liveaquaria and the other foster and smith websites would be, if you are looking for a guarantee on what you order they are great but there are other places that have better quality or more reasonable pricing if you don't mind ordering from multiple places. I plan on ordering from them in the future but not for anything that is alive unless I am ordering a bulk order. If it is just for a couple pieces I'd rather go to a specialty vendor.
