when i bought my lighting i tthought i was doing a pretty good thing and now im alittle confused about that. i made it so that my light does not hit like a quarter of my tank so i could put low light corals there but it seems that the amount of light i have there isnt enoguh for even polyps so i was thinking about puting a heat lamp by that area to light it up but would the heat mess up omy tank. also while i am talking about my lighting my fan on my light is a killer. it is so loud that it has gottin to the point where i want to throw it out the window. does nayone know how to make it quiter?

I wouldn't use a heat lamp. This puts out mostly Infra Red light which will only heat up the water. You need light that is more balanced or more toward the blue spectrum.
As for the fan. Short of replacing it the only other thing to do is to keep it clean. It sounds like it may be out of balance and that can be caused by a build up of dust on the fan blades. But can also be a cheap fan. There are a number of manufacturers of quite fans out there. You will pay a bit more for them, but as they say "You get what you pay for."

Look in the buy/sell section, there are 3" fans or something like that....you can makeshift these to fit your needs most definently.

Well, in reading a piece on www.TechTV.com (http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/print/0,23102,3338992,00.html) I found an article that talks about making a quite PC. The mention a few types of fans including >>these (http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/appliance/appliance_fans_panaflo_axial.htm)<< that go for around $12.
