i would get a seperate pumpofr the skimmer, i dont think the mag will have enough power

So should I run a powerhead to the cannister then a pump to the skimmer

the cannister has it's own pump, i think filtering the water before it gets to the skimmer wouldnt be good

just go from the pump to the skimmer, to the tank
