Hello,
my name is Torsten and i'm from Germany. Hope my english is not too bad.
I've got a 300 Liters coral-reef-aquarium since June 2003.
At the moment I'm using KENT Salt and the other elements from KENT.
I don't have many fishes yet. Only some "Nemo's" :)
And last but not least my first question:
What type of skimmer (right?!) do you use?!? I'm thinking about buying a KENT Nautilus EX. Have you got any tips (?) for me?

I use a berlin classic but I believe that the Nautilus is a good skimmer. Welcome to Coral Forum and please tell us more about your system.

Welcome to Coral Forum and please tell us more about your system.
I try:
My latest tests:
Phosphate 0,05 mg/L (Tested with Salifert)
NO² less than 0,3 mg/L (Tested with Tetra)
NO³ less than 12,5 mg/L (Tested with Tetra)
Calcium 450 mg/L (Tested with Salifert)
Magnesium 1450 mg/L (Tested with Salifert)
I'm using a 250 Watt HQI with 10.000 K from Aqualine Buschke (AB). My skimmer at the moment is a GroTech HEA 150 with an Eheim pump. And I'm using a Schuran Jetstream 1 as a "Kalkreaktor" (don't know the english word for it). For the stream I'm Using an old Eheim 1036.
I'm sorry but I don't know most of the word's in english so i 've to write some words in german.

It's not bad, but i'm not very happy with the bubbles. They are too big in my opinion. Thats why I'm using an Eheim pump from an old H&S Skimmer.
But I don't like these "modifications". Thats why im interested in the other Skimmer.

mightymagic,
Das ist ein sehr nettes schauendes aquararium. Ist es hart, Fische und Versorgungsmaterialien in Deutschland zu finden? Gerades neugieriges.
Oh, and, yeah I took German a long time ago in High School, but I must confess. I cheated. I used the Google Language tool to translate the above text.

Ich müsste mit Ihnen übereinstimmen und ich mag den aquascaping auch.
Its kind of nice to have people from other countries here. To see if they do things differently then we do.

No, it's not very hard. But it is not easy to find good sellers here. To buy really good corals an fishes I have to drive to cologne, nearly 200 kilometers from Dortmund, my hometown. Sometimes I buy also from onlineshops. And I can import things because I've got an onlineshop, too.
Do you mean the xanthurum? Yes, that's my favourite fish. It was very ill as I have seen it. And he is not black. Only at the picture. normally he is purple.
i have a purple tang now. hes awesome, nice tank man.

mightymagic,
Do you read the German publication "Koralle"?
I have recieved the first edition of the English publication of this magazine called "CORAL". An excellent periodical. I found myself reading it from cover to cover. The articles by Rudie Kuiter on Seahorses are just magnificent. If you haven't read this magazine yet, I suggest you give it a read. You won't be disappointed... :)
i just got that also, great stuff on seahorses, i must say that mag owns tfh... and i get them free!!!
