Hello to all I am very new, my question is the following one I have a purple surgeon, apparently he/she has ich, for this this asset has not seen it sad my question is that with the ich, as much as time could last a fish with this situation and that I can make. :roll:

I'm sure there are a lot of ways to deal with ich, but I find a freshwater dip to be the best and cheapest first option. I've never had it not work.

I have always been too scared to do a fresh dip - how do you go about doing them?

Could I get a bowl of RO with mineral supplement and get it up to tank temp and just dip him in for a few seconds? Doesnt that cause a lot of stress?

I've never used a mineral supplement...just ro water, yes. I would imagine that it is stressful....I've only had to do it with clowns and tangs and they dealt with the stress fine. I might not do it with a really touchy fish. Just put them in the water, and the black spots should actually just fall off...to be safe, if it takes longer than 2 or 3 minutes, I'd try another method...but it really shouldn't take that long. I'm no expert, though, and I'd recommend looking for better instructions online.

Ok cool thanks a lot. I might try this with all my fish to see what ones can handle it...

No I'm joking - but I'll give it a go next time 1 is sick - cud this b done with just bought fish ?

They don't create to my he/she also gives me fear :shock: to take out them and to submerge them some minutes in fresh water independently of the difficult thing that it is to grab them and the stress that are given, but in short it will be good to use garlic or that another solution could be

I haven't dealt with white spots.
There is also black ich...black spot disease.
