I bought a golf ball coral about two weeks ago and for the first couple of days it had good long extensions but not much colour(pinkonly). after day two( which i do every week) i added my reef addatives and the next day the extensions shrunk to almost nothing but the colour is absolutely great now bright lime. its been two weeks and it looks healthy but it has not much extension only sometimes extending a little. all my water paramiters are perfect accept for magnisium which it averaging around the 1050mg(a little low) and i cant see any of the fish nippping at it.
any clues what i should try?

How is your Calcium? I agree, the angel could be bothering it, but it also could just be the change in lighting or surroundings. What type of lighting do you have and how much light? What size tank?
On another note, I see that your LR (Live Rock) seems to have a lot of green algae on it. Do you have a clean-up crew (hermits, snails, etc.)? Do you use RO water for your make-up and top-off water?

ive never seen the Angel nip at it yet but thats not saying he dosnt. my calcium is always between 440 and 500. my lighting has 4 x 36w(10,000k actinic 120cm) aquastars and 2x coralstars 36w(120cm long)
Yes i have two snails a few hermits and the two tangs for clean up but any advice to get rid of it all would be great. the tank size is a 350 litre with sub tank and i use good filtered water for top ups but i very rarely have to top up, maybe 10 litres every couple of weeks.
this is my set up;
320 litre main tank with weir
30 litre sub tank
600L/h biological filter
pre bio ball filter
large bio ball tower
large protein skimmer
UV sterilizer
Teco rc 240 chiller
3000L/h main return pump
and a couple of power heads
cheers

I believe if you take 320 liters x 0.24617 = 78.77 gallons
and for his return pump take 3000 liters x0.24617 = 792.51 GPH
I know it gets confusing at times :?
300 liters is 85 gallon tank. I would reccomended you get some more snails and see if you can pick it out by hand for the green algae.

The algae is very fine like velvet where it is so you really cany pick it off.
