Zoos are not aggressive and can be placed relatively close to each other. However, there are some zoos which secrete toxins in their mucus and are potentially dangerous if the mucus comes in contact with your skin or esp. a cut on your skin.

Interesting enough, I've got some Zoo's that are currently battling with a patch of Star Polyps that are starting to grow too close. I would definitely have to say that the Zoo's are winning the fight.

LOL... normally I would be concerned, but watching this has been a really interesting experiment in how various corals compete chemically with one another. I'm not saying everyone should run out and try this at home, but since this is taking place in one of my grow-out tanks, I'm not worried about it. Lets face it, it's between Zoos and Star Polyps... two of the "weeds" of the coral kingdom... its not like I don't have enough of each of them (and its not like everyone else doesn't have enough of them either).

Just out of curiosity, what does your LFS charge for things like Xenia, Star Polyps, and other VERY common corals? I almost fell over this weekend when I saw one of the LFS asking $40 for a small growth of Xenia! That's outrageous!!!! This is why its good to have a local club that has frag swaps. These species are so common that most people will just give it to you.

Yes, My LFS Charges 40 For Star Polyps,35 Xenia And Polyps 30. Around That Range
