Sometimes the reef gods just smile on you. I was at a friend’s house tonight here in Boca and we were outside talking in his driveway. My buddy was asking about setting up a large tank in his living room. His neighbor happened to come and heard us talking. He's a retired doctor and apparently had broken down his old fish tank when he closed his practice. He said he had gotten rid of just about everything, but still had a couple things and wanted to know if I would get them out of his garage. I told him I would be glad to. So I went and looked and there was an ancient box of some anonymous salt mix that was a brick as well as a few other misc. items (connectors, broken net, that kind of junk). All of this was sitting on top of the prize though... a functioning Aquanetics AFC - 3 chiller! SCORE! I tested it tonight when I got home and its works fine. I've cleaned it up and will be putting in tomorrow. The guy didn't want anything for it; he just needed to make room for his new golf cart. :-D
