Tangs Are by Far My Favorite Fish. I Like All Types Of Tangs And Have 3 Tangs Right Now. People Say That My Tank Is To Small For Tangs But I Have Had A Hippo Tang And Yellow Tang For Two Months In A 38 Gallon Tank And They Are Both Healthy.
What Bothers Me Are The People Who Jump On You For Have A Tang In Only A 3 Foot Long Tank And All That... But If They Care About The Animals So Much Then Why Are They Keeping Them At All, I'm Sure The Stress Of Being Ripped Out Of They're Natural Enviroment By Divers And Being Moved To Tank To Tank Is Stressful. No Matter What The Size Of The Tank Is The Fish Is Still Going To Be Stressed, What About Walking Past The Tank That Scares The Fish. Isn't All This Stressful. Well That's My Opiniun And You Know What They Say About Opiniuns....
Well, Getting Back To Tangs I Was At The LFS Last Night And I Saw Two Amazingly Beautiful Tangs That I Have Never Seen Before. These Tangs Were A Salfin Tang And And Scopas Tang. I Decided That I Would Buy The Scopas Tang And Try It Out. Whne I Got Home I Added Him To My Tank Once He Was In The Tank For About An Hour My Yellow Tang Started Going After Him. Right Away I Signed On To AIM And Asked My Online Buddy And Most Of Them Told Me To Take Him Out Of The tank But Then I Asked If The Idea Of Putting Plexi Glass In The Tank Would Work. They Said Its Worth A Try So I Did It. I Seperated The Yellow Tang IN A Small Area Of The Tank And I Plan To Leave Him In That Area For A While.
These Are Some Reasons I Learned About Why Tangs Fight. One Reason Is "Tangs Seem To Be Something On The Order Of "I Eat Before You Eat. If I Am Hungry, You Should Be Hungrier." Quoted From CrlKeep. Another Thing Is All Tangs Fight If They Are The Same Color Or Shape/Genus. They Don't All Fight But Most Of The Time They Do. A Great Way To Reduce Stress Is To Get Them At The Same Time.
